Fairground and Raceday People at Epsom 1956

We lived on Epsom Downs and I was studying photography. Racedays seemed a perfect time to photograph people. In those days It was rare to see someone with a camera taking photos of everyday events, you could point your camera at anyone and they were pleased to have their photo taken. The fairground people I discovered were simply delightful and I was accepted by them, possibly as an 'odd ball' with a camera. There were 3 race meetings a year and these photos were taken over a 2 year period 55 and 56. I have lots more and recently published several books with Bob's Books, see the link:
