My Favorite photos
This section contains some of my most favorite photos, many taken when I was studying at the London School of Printing and Graphic Arts in the mid 1950s. In those days my only camera was an old 1934 Zeiss Ikon Ikoflex, fitted with an f3.5 Triotar. Later in the 1960s I became the very proud owner of a Hasslebled 1000F. An early version with a focal plane shutter and a manually stopped down Tessar f2.8. One had to be dedicated to use it. I still have it and it works.
In the 1950s you could point a camera at anyone and they were pleased to have their photo taken

A spitfire and a Wellington flew over so I switchen on the Olympus C1400 that took for ever to boot up. It came to life just as the Red Arrows flew over. There is a crane in the photo that I haven't finished editing out. |
