Glyn Grammar School 1952 - 55

We moved from st Albans in 1951 and I went to Glyn Grammar School. A crash German course started in '53 to take 'O'levels in 2 years. This seemed a much better idea than Latin which I started in my first year there.

My interest in photography blossomed and I was taking photos of just about everything.

A school trip to Austria was organised in 1954 and we had a wonderful couple of weeks climbing mountains and walking miles each day, together with coach trips out to Innsbruck and Cortina in Italy.

I had already decided to study photography when I left school so I bought my first proper camera (1935 Ikoflex III) and photographed everything on the trip.
